RESET for TRUTH………….

Slowly the wheels are coming off the bus and the legs of Science Tables are looking shaky. The narrative delivered as the honest to covid truth two years ago is being recognized for what it is. Those who understand that “lies run sprints and truth runs marathons” are to be congratulated for holding steady even though every effort has been made to mangle and then desiccate the presentation of facts. Today the Covid trifecta began in Denmark on the pages of Ekstra Blodt, one of the countries largest newspapers. Under the headline, “We Failed” the paper apologized for hypnotically parroting the government’s Covid narrative. It admitted the Fourth estate bowed to the First estate “almost hypnotically” occupying itself with the daily reports of the authorities without question, without the vigilance citizens should expect from the Media. The second victory took place in the Mother of All Parliaments where Prime Minister Boris Johnson declared the end of Covid Vaccine passports and mask requirements in the United Kingdom. And in the Czech capital of Prague the newly elected government dismissed the previous government’s plan to require older adults and people in some professions to get vaccinated. In short, the new Czech government, “dismissed the old government’s vaccination plan.” Notably not one of the major media players in Canada found the trio of grand events worth reporting. While unvaxxed Canadians continued to bear the brunt of brutal and bilious threats from private citizens as well as elected and non elected officials, residents in other countries that refused to be “apprehended hypnotically” are understandably relieved and hailed the strides toward truth and transparency. In the United States, after watching thousands marching in the streets of several European capitals, Tucker Carlson of Fox News noted, “the media coverage in the States gives you the sense that everyone is in favour of Vax mandates and then you see today’s coverage and you realize there is a global movement against them.” Carlson spoke about the same time the Rasmussen survey people released a poll showing 55% of the Democrats questioned want the unvaxxed to go to concentration camps. Here in Canada a survey said 25% questioned want the people who refuse vaccination, jailed. The obvious comments covering both polls would be who knew that so many people who live in North America are so callous, cold and crass.

For those who observe the pandemic picture day to day with curiosity, the developments in Copenhagen, London and Prague do not come as a surprise. The worm began to turn last week when Bill Gates admitted the billions spent on Covid vaccines came with two problems: they have “failed to control infection and transmission.” He suggested….”we need a new way of doing vaccines.” Brutal admission from one the world’s richest people. When Canadians consider how slavishly we have followed the dictates of the the CDC, (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) it must of come as a shock to those medical experts sitting around the Science Table to hear the CDC director announce a dramatic change in policy and planning. Dr. Rochelle Wallensky in a tweet on January 9th essentially admitted Covid policies have failed and must be abandoned. Now we surmise that the medical gurus at the Science Table like Dr. Peter Juni got the gist of the tweet but it is impossible to believe they understood it. Why? Because nothing has changed. The Ministry of Health is still mangling the Covid numbers daily and the drive to vaccinate continues backed by the threat of brutal sanctions against the refusniks. And how could you be in the Covid tracking business and not know the evidence tabled in September of last year when the CDC confessed vaccines are failing and the vaxxed can be super-spreaders! Through the last three weeks the evidence has been building. Check out the statement from WHO (World Health Organization) “…a vaccination strategy based on repeated booster doses of the original vaccine composition in unlikely to be appropriate or sustainable.” Check the Pfizer CEO Albert Bouria on January 11–“two Covid vaccine doses aren’t enough for Omicron.” Also, stunning figures from Alberta show Covid infections, hospitalizations, and deaths soar In the days and weeks after people receive their first dose. Look up 9 independent studies showing the more you vaccinate, the more you help the virus infect you. European Union regulators warned that frequent Covid 19 booster shots could adversely affect the immune system. Professor Ehud Qimron is one of Israel’s top immunologists. A few days ago he wrote an open letter to the Israeli Ministry of Health the gist of which is: ” you have screwed up big time in the handling of the pandemic. You should admit it and stop the insane policies and the intimidation tactics. Now.” Trudeau says Canadians are ‘angry and frustrated’ with the unvaccinated. Well as a journalist for many years I am angry and frustrated that the state subsidized media in this country have failed to tell Canadians about the rest of the pandemic. The Media remains anesthetized. They are one of the chief agents aiding and abetting the spread of misinformation in Canada and its by-product: CHAOS!

The biggest liability in the room

When the members of the Liberal caucus jettisoned two former Trudeau cabinet ministers, Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpot, they exhibited the essence of the herd mentality. Blinded by their belief in the political invincibility of Justin Trudeau, caucus members like Judy Sgro, Carolyn Bennett, Salma Zahid and the other female members of the Caucus couldn’t wait to throw out two of their best. We watched as the weasels took over the landscape denying Jody Wilson-Raybould an opportunity to return and continue her testimony before the Liberal-dominated Justice committee. They didn’t want to hear anything more. The weasels didn’t want to hear it even though Jane Philpot said there was more, and the Liberal-dominated Ethics committee was also denied the right to hear the more. Trudeau the Lesser didn’t want the more discussed. All efforts to shutdown the story of SNC Lavalin and the DPA were directed by the PMO and the rest of us knew it. So when a pollster came back with the numbers, it was obvious that Justin Trudeau was the biggest liability in the Liberal Caucus. 46% of those surveyed wanted him to resign. The Liberals may not know it but their leader has the qualities that can lead them back into the political wilderness.

Uncomprehending members of the Caucus threw out with venom Jane Philpot and Jody Wilson-Raybould.

They did so without contemplating the obvious, that the Prime Minister is the biggest liability in that caucus. It’s his arrogance, and mendacious portrayal of both, his disagreements with JWR, and the reason she had to be kicked out of caucus that would require right thinking members among the Liberals to come to a full stop and digest one of the latest polls calling on the Prime Minister to resign. 46% said resign!

Obviously the lead weasel is the Prime Minister who leaked stories to the Star and the CBC about a power play involving the PMO and JWR. Dutifully, like the PM knew they would, both media outlets reported the stories. Now some Canadians might have believed the yarn about a power struggle, most assuredly Koolaid drinking Liberals would, but it doesn’t take a mensa member to look at the players to figure out Le Canard! She is a former cabinet minister, He is the Prime Minister! A power struggle? Please!

So they threw her out and threw dirt on her and said nasty things about her. But the biggest liability in the Liberal Caucus remains. Justin Trudeau, member of Parliament for Papineau, is the puppeteer in chief.

Who was managing the campaign to wring a concession from the country’s Attorney-General with respect to SNC Lavalin? Who recruited his top toadies (high officials like Butts, Wernick, Morneau) to point out to JWR that Lavalin was a “signature” company that was in need of our compassion? Who passed along the word to Madame Attorney-General that the puppet master was quite determined to win for his good friends at the “signature” company in QUEBEC! When the four month harangue failed to get you know who his victory, he shuffled Madame to a lesser portfolio. And who accepted her resignation from the cabinet? And then when the Globe and Mail reported that JWR had been subjected to unceasing bursts of lobbying by the PMO, who denied the story?

But thank goodness the Attorney-General’s head was on straight. Faced with the continuing harangue from the Trudeau juggernaut, knowing that the Prime Minister’s people would lie about the intensity of the lobbying, she devised a brilliant plan. She turned on a tape machine and for posterity recorded the words of Michael Wernick, Clerk of the Privy Council, who spoke to the SNC Lavalin problem that she was creating. Later when Wernick testified to members of the Justice committee, he of course had a different version. The Wrong version. We now know the rest of that story.

Forward to the day the Liberal Caucus jettisoned Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpot. The biggest Caucus Liability remained. Because he has trouble separating fact from fiction, cannot admit to making a grievous mistake, and while his manner of speaking is breezy, he cannot communicate sincerity and heart-searching observations. He could have scored a ten-bagger with his Caucus and the country by getting off his high horse and delivering what we should expect from a man who wants to do the right thing. But he didn’t.

He needed to convince the Caucus members that this standoff must come to an end for the sake of the members present, the national party and the country. He would have been within his rights to walk back much of the ongoing anti-JWR and Philpot palaver and the more virulent caucus misstatements about these two fine women who have asked to remain “with us.” He needed to say justice is not served by giving SNC Lavalin a free pass. He could have admitted making a mistake! His rallying cry should have been, “We need them, you need them, we can work it out.”

So what did he do instead and because he didn’t have a legitimate, honest reason for kicking JWR out of Caucus? He devised what he and his advisers felt was a winning play, throw dirt at the woman, make her the heavy! He included Jane Philpot in this juvenile self righteous diatribe but no one knows why.

Trudeau’s big reveal zeroed in on the tape but of course he refused to acknowledge that the message delivered on the tape proved the woman he was vilifying spoke truth. He knew it but didn’t have the mojo to admit it. Instead:

He said, “if a politician secretly records a conversation with anyone, it’s wrong. When that cabinet minister is the Attorney-General of Canada secretly recording the Clerk of the Privy Council, it is unconscionable.”

Pardon me while I take a moment to characterize these quotes: this is Rama-Lama Ding Dong stuff by Ishkabibble.

There is a good use for recording devices and despite Trudeau’s babble about what’s “wrong” and “unconscionable”, Jody Wilson-Raybould used hers to catch the country’s political braintrust in a lie and a cover-up and that’s why he threw her out to the cheers of the weasels who didn’t understand that their hero is still the biggest liability in the caucus!

Manipulation

There’s something very odd about the Prime Minister’s behavior over the last 6 months. He has been making decisions and statements that are both confusing and contradictory. The two strangest situations I’m thinking about involve major decisions that have unsteadied the people and unsettled the political landscape. The FIRST deals with the growing divisiveness over “passports of vaccination”, the SECOND has placed this country in the middle of an unnecessary and costly national election. Consider this–on March 12, less than 7 months ago, Justin Trudeau firmly declared NO to passports in Canada. He emphasized the point in a followup interview shared with Reuters in February. Justin Trudeau was asked for a Canadian position on the growing clamour for Covid Passports in Europe and the States. He said, “many Canadians will likely choose to not get vaccinated and will have many reasons including valid medical reasons for choosing not to do that.” He continued, “..making vaccine passports mandatory when many will choose not to get vaccinated could lead to unexpected, undesirable effects that as Canadian Prime Minister I want to avoid.” And he wasn’t finished making what at the time appeared to be his incontrovertible position on the subject of imposing a caste system on Canadians. His last points underscored what appeared to be his firm opinion on the matter, quote, ” The indication that a vast majority of Canadians are looking to get vaccinated will get us to a good place without having to take more extreme measures that could have real divisive impacts.” end quote. Now I, and many others, took his words to mean–NO NATIONAL PASSPORTS for CANADA. No caste system. Wow! Take a look at a classic 180. Friday August, 27 this same Justin Trudeau dangled a billion dollars taken from his favorite cookie jar and coupled the bribe with a threat to punish provinces like Ontario if Doug Ford doesn’t implement a vaccine passport system. Ford who rejected the idea of a domestic Covid 19 passport less that a month ago has folded like a tent in a storm. The smart money said Ontario would have a passport plan by Wednesday. WE got it Tuesday. Adamant against in March! Bullying and bribing in favour in August! Who is pulling the passport strings in Canada? Think about it. It’s not Trudeau. Who then? Think the “GreatResetCabal”. And while I have no proof, I can offer evidentiary support that something or someone is s:fooling with this country’s political well-being. Consider this: In May of this year Prime Minister Trudeau and the rest of the members of the Commons, with one exception, voted on a motion that pledged no election during this pandemic. He was adamant. No unnecessary spending of 610-million dollars. It will be the most expensive election in Canadian history.

In June he repeated the position taken by the members of Parliament. No election during the pandemic! Then a few weeks later, his covid curls and slightly greying beard were gone and somebody yelled, “election coming.” The decision is very strange. He pledged his political word in May to eschew a political power grab in the middle of a deadly pandemic and by July he was persuaded to break another promise and visit the Governor-General, in itself a hasty installation. Recall what he said about passport imposition in February and again in March, “..because a majority of Canadians are looking to get vaccinated, that will get us to a good place without having to take more extreme measures that could have real, divisive impacts.” Recall his pledge—no pandemic vote. Two major decisions widely disseminated then suddenly two major national decisions cast aside. Both reversals conjure foreign influences. Has Trudeau fallen under the spell of the same cabal that has turned Joe Biden and his staff into the gang that couldn’t shoot straight?

Whatever the influences, the behavior of the Prime Minister has been odd!

Two Trudeau pirouettes and behold a costly election and an uneven vaccine passport rollout!

Bizarre!

Justin at the Stone Wall

In May, 2015 Justin Trudeau, Canada’s Prime Minister, walked in the March for Genocide Prevention. On February 22, 2021 Trudeau and his Cabinet abstained from voting on a parliamentary initiative that called China’s actions against the Uyghur Muslims, a “genocide.” Recalling this hypocrisy gives us a dramatic picture from a pantheon crowded with examples displaying Trudeau’s scurrilous attitude toward truth and transparency, the favorite words of the political cabal. One of his favorite places to end unwanted, embarrassing questions about his stewardship is the Stone Wall. For many people the list is a surprise…surprise as in “I don’t pay much attention to politics.” Certainly this attitude among Canadians has helped fuel the JUSTIN mystique. That he is firm, fair and honest. Trudeau for his part has been caught with his hand in the cookie jar so often the people want to give it to him. And in fact he is asking for it on September 20. His most recent eyebrow raising politics and deceit adventure involved his friendship with Tom Pitfield. Tom’s daddy Michael was a longtime influential political adviser to Trudeau the Elder. The friendship between Justice and Tom has endured and both have prospered. In this case the Ethics Commissioner was called on to check on a scheme in which some Liberal MPs hired Tom Pitfield’s company to help them spend tax dollars allocated to them to pay for the running of their offices. The money was handled by the Liberal Research Bureau. The Ethics Commissioner says he checked it out, and while the Prime Minister is responsible for the Liberal Research Bureau, the Commissioner accepted that he, (the PM), delegated his authority. So the Ethics Commissioner concluded if that’s the case the PM didn’t know a thing and therefore could not have suggested his friend’s companies be favoured to help spend the MPs tax money. Another Trudeau decision revolved around the WE Charity. Well, didn’t it turn into a major scandal featuring big money paid to the Trudeau family for helping WE. Chunks of tax dollars were handed to the WE two guys–and we watched as the PM kept getting deeper and deeper into the nefarious, iniquitous and the impenetrable. Mendacity was the star! As more and more snippets came to light, the Opposition called on a committee to probe exactly what was going on. The Liberals on the committee with the help of the Quebecois came to the Prime Minister’s rescue. His stone- walling and delaying tactics helped him run the WE table right into a dead end – the Stone Wall. Subsequently, 6 billion dollars were sent along to Quebec, possibly as a thank you for bailing out the Prime Minister. The fact is we never got the real story of the WE Charity debacle. There are many similar stories in the PM’s CV. His decision to force an election in the middle of a pandemic should automatically be a referendum on the stewardship of Justin Pierre James Trudeau. For one, the man needs to be challenged for his vaccine procurement disaster.

He has taken this nation on a nasty ride. And if the sight of the sleek government plane with the giant letters spelling out TRUDEAU sitting on a tarmac in a city near you doesn’t inspire a sense of foreboding, it should. His reckless spending on the pandemic with no Parliamentary oversight displays fiduciary flimflam. But think how enormous an ego must be to abandon sane judgement and sanity to call an unnecessary election in the midst of a pandemic. His self seeking persona amplifies the waste. This election will cost 610 million dollars. And for what? For HIS right to continue to wear the imperial crown fashioned to fit his ill-conceived ideas. The victory that Trudeau is seeking will turn Parliament into an instrument of tyranny.

During the last year of the Parliamentary session just terminated, his government placed itself above Parliament on two occasions. Trudeau challenges the supremacy of Parliament. His cabinet cannot be counted on to speak for the people on any issue. They watched the dismemberment of Jody Wilson-Raybould. Where were their voices when a throwback to Joseph Goebbels introduced Bill 10? It was an odious piece of legislation designed specifically to shut down the freedom to speak about issues of importance. Fear not if the incumbent is returned to office, BillC-10 will be resurrected. Do you expect truth and transparency from His Highness? Don’t! Remember how he browbeat and drove from office the Country’s Attorney-General over an issue involving Friends of the Party. Was he sorry? You’re kidding right. She’s gone! He’s busy on the huge campaign plane with his friends, members of the media. On the eve of the campaign, Justin Trudeau laid down another 61 million dollars on the Media to help them tell the Trudeau story the right way! His way! It was called pre-election “emergency relief” to ensure readers receive “timely information they require from their government.”

Of course it’s our money. After all, he grew up living on the Family Trust.

The COVID caravan cruises ON

Cruising as it were toward the Great Reset, “the reboot,” a priority of the Prime Minister and others holding political power who need the chaos of covid for the dream to be realized. The reset will be constructed behind a pyramid of disinformation, misinformation, propaganda and our money. Money and lies, the world’s leading weapons of success. The keys to the success of Babylon and all the great empires that followed.

As we battle through another Spring of the uninvited pandemic there is a need to look around and take measure of what we know to be the logical and illogical edicts issued by our political and medical masters. For instance, how should a sane, well-informed Canadian describe the Federal government’s border control manifesto? Goofy, stupid, misleading, conspiratorial, lame, dangerous, sensible. Many Canadians are trying to deal with this conundrum, while our doctors, nurses, hospital staff, police officers, ambulance attendants, care-givers, staff of long-care homes and all front line workers who give everything they have, including in some cases their lives ask why are we flying into Canada hundreds of COVID infectees? Why are we adding this burden to over-extended front-line workers fighting to save our own? Can you answer that question? I can’t and neither can the Prime Minister or his incredibly dim Minister of Health. The fact that the PM would, without showing any loyalty to our front-line workers or paying tribute to them, claim there is no need to curtail the arrival of diseased airline travellers tells us a lot of about his lack of cognitive empathy And he makes the claim without explanation and without challenge by the so-called professional media of the day. For instance, in the last several weeks at least 40 flights arrived in Canada bringing us some 5-thousand COVID infectees. On the day several flights came in from New Delhi, INDIA reported 300-thousand new cases of COVID. Suddenly after some Media musing about the ludicrous situation of allowing even one flight with scores of infected to land here the Prime Minister announced a ban of direct flights from India and Pakistan. For 30 days! But other international flights are allowed to roll in unimpeded. It’s as if there is no need to examine this further. Well let’s see if planes from other countries should be enjoined to find some other place to land. Given the lack of Federal action in that regard, here with current infected numbers are some candidates for flight suspension: Brazil 24,619; Turkey 24,733; USA 33,671; Russia 8,489; Italy 5,948; Spain 5,354; Germany 10,279. Wouldn’t it make sense that we should be fighting to win the war with both hands free to treat Canadians first. Furthermore, we have no reason to be so cavalier about welcoming plane loads of COVID infectees because WE are NOT out the woods. (May 3 numbers for Canada 4,876.) Not showing Canadians a Covid battle plan akin to those countries who have fought COVID with every weapon at their disposal leaves some suspecting collusion and conspiracy with ammunition. Why would you want to give the conspiracy buffs a hook. Add these thoughts to the Prime Minister’s flaccid attempt to secure vaccines on behalf of Canadians. His feeble effort raised more than a few eyebrows. While Donald Trump and then Joe Biden secured for Americans more than enough vaccine, Monsieur Trudeau was shut out and became so desperate he was reduced to accepting vaccine for his fellow citizens from the COVID 19 vaccine pool set aside for the poorest among nations. How pathetic!

Patty Hajdu, our Federal minister of Health who famously declared that stories about the efficacy of Vitamin D was “fake news” had her own pronouncement about closing our borders to infectees. To calls for tougher border measures she pushed back and suggested Canadians should INSTEAD focus on ending community transmission of the virus. Yes Minister did you say “Instead?” Hajdu added to her dismal track record by pointing out, ” people are getting sick at work, they’re getting sick in crowded housing settings, they’re getting sick in the community” –but she did not say — “and bringing more INFECTEES to the communuity from other countries by plane loads is admittedly pretty stupid.” No she didn’t say that. (The reset cannot advance in honesty.) To add to the minister’s incredibly simplistic take on matters of National importance was her response to a question about tightening the borders to slow the number of deadly variants coming into Canada she said, “no point, they’re already here.”

Minister Hajdu says she’s “laser focused” on stopping community transmission of covid. You could suggest being “laser focused” usually means you’ve missed everything else going on around you.

America at Twilight (3)

By the time John F. Kennedy took the reins in January 1961, the Central Intelligence Agency had served itself a substantial slice of US foreign policy. Normally the sole jurisdiction of the President and Secretary of State, the CIA developed a rhythm in its operations both secret and deadly. The agency engineered a Coup in Iran (1953) and in Guatemala (1954) in concert with the State Department but it was planning some freelance adventures in September 1961, namely the assassinations of Patrice Lumumba, a former Congo Prime Minister, and Dag Hammerskjold, who was bringing a peace proposal to the Congo warring factions. His death remains a Cold Case. But the chutzpah of a cabal willing to dispatch the UN Secretary-General in the pursuit of its nefarious goals would hoist flags of concern in many capitals. Several months previous in April of ’61 the CIA’s mischief in the Bay of Pigs led President Kennedy into the jaws of defeat and profound embarrassment. Suggesting that Eisenhower’s Military-Industrial complex warning came a little late would garner a ‘duh’ because Kennedy’s next major duel with the Agency would play out in South East Asia: Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. CIA interference in Laos ran counter to Kennedy’s desire to neutralize that country under a United Nations initiative. In Saigon, CIA made plans to drag the United States into a full scale ground war between the US and the Viet Cong. That set the stage for dramatics that Kennedy knew could cost him his life.

When JFK became president he was unaware that the CIA had placed a secret team of its own employees through the entire U.S. government. This team was accountable only to the CIA, headed by Allan Dulles. When Dulles was fired, Richard Helms replaced him. According to author James W. Douglas, “with the exception of a tight circle of Agency bureaucrats no one was aware of this top-secret intelligence network. It constituted a powerful, unseen government within the government. The members of this {cabal} would act quickly, with total obedience when called upon by the CIA to assist its covert operations”. Knowing this eliminates the need for a tutorial on Dallas!

By the fall of ’63 Vietnam was a bag of hammers. The U.S. had a few hundred advisers in Saigon including about 300 CIA, the Joint Chiefs were agitating for substantially greater troop deployment, diplomats were divided on the chances of defeating the Viet Cong with a couple of hundred thousand troops, and Kennedy was trying to figure out how he was going to broach the subject of absolutely no U.S. troop involvement, not even advisors in South Vietnam. Between 1946 and 1954 the French suffered enormous losses; more than 100-thousand killed, another 100 thousand wounded, and millions in military hardware. Indo-China was purgatorial for the French and Kennedy was not going to sacrifice young Americans in the rice paddies of South Vietnam. So 6 weeks before his assassination JFK issued National Security Action Memoranda-NSAM #263. It ordered the withdrawal of “1,000 U-S military personnel by the end of 1963” and “by the end of 1965….the bulk of U.S. personnel.” At that point Kennedy was a dead man walking.

On October 3, 1963, Richard Starnes of the Scripps-Howard newspapers wrote “..according to a high United States source here (Saigon), twice the C.I.A. flatly refused to carry out instructions from Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge…{and} in one instance frustrated a plan of action Mr. Lodge brought from Washington because the Agency disagreed with it.” The Starnes piece continued, “a very high American official noted the CIA’s growth was “likened to a malignancy” which the very high official was not sure even the White House could control…any longer. The Agency, he said, represents a tremendous power and total unaccountability to anyone.”

Using its menacing influence the CIA managed to inveigle the Congress into believing in the righteous practicality of U.S. presence in Vietnam in spite of growing unrest among hoi polloi. Scattered protests threatened. The cost of war was draining America of its young. Black leaders were finding it difficult to justify to their military-age youth the sacrifice in a war the United States seemed unable to win. The question in 1964 and beyond was who will go get a watchman to help the poor, lazy, unfocused American media get it together. The watchman never came. There were scattered challenges to the findings of the Warren Commission, bothersome critics like Mark Lane, but nothing critical to its acceptance by the majority of Americans. So the Agency’s radar was concerned about crowds, and single-minded messiahs who could whip up unwanted irritations. After its success in Dallas, CIA managed assets were contracted to eliminate trouble. In 1965, there was Malcolm X. Who assassinated him? 56 years later his family would like to know. The CIA involved somehow? Then in April 1968 more executive action. There was that other black troublemaker with a huge following and a gift of soaring oratory. CIA would have to figure Americans bought the lone gunman story in ’63 why not use it again? Bingo-James Earl Ray. Neat, another guy with three names, a rifle and a couple bullets. Target: Dr. Martin Luther King. Tennessee Judge Joe Brown flatly stated James Ray did not kill Dr. King and a Civil court jury returned a verdict of a conspiracy. Doubts linger, but from the CIA perspective it got the job done. Where was the great American media? So far from the pulse of the action with no hope of ever catching up.

The next problem faced by the Agency was the emerging electoral strength of Bobby Kennedy. June 1968. He wins the California primary. Yes he was a major problem. If he goes to Chicago and wins the Democratic nomination and if he becomes President knowing what he knows about Washington…..Oh yes he’s gotta go. Change the setup. No rifles. A guy with a handgun, and another guy to guarantee the hit. Sirhan Sirhan. Catchy. A man with a mission. Sirhan shooting as Kennedy is walking towards him in the hotel kitchen hits everybody but Kennedy. Thane Eugene Caesar, a private guard hired to protect Bobby Kennedy, fires two fatal bullets, one report says four less than 5 inches from his head. Somehow no one figures that out, except Thomas Noguchi the coroner. But the media are told the Coroner is wrong. Sirhan’s gun had eight chambers, and police clean-up confirmed 13 shots fired. They said Noguchi was prone to making mistakes. Kennedy dies at 4:30 am Los Angeles time. Americans mourned but they remained clueless. Who hired Thane Eugene Cesar?

1960 was your opportunity to elevate the Republic, take it to a plane higher than any country has ever reached. America! It was yours to take. But in that decade 60-69, you elected a president, you killed a president, killed his assassin, killed two influential back leaders, killed the President’s brother who could have been president, sent more than two million men and women to fight a war you could not win! And you also put men on the moon, fulfilling a promise made years before by the slain president.

The people of the United States countenanced four major assassinations in less than seven years? And still could not or would not come to understand that they were living in a Banana Republic. The mind boggles! Wilful ignorance is when you are fully aware of facts, resources and sources but refuse to acknowledge them. America the Beautiful – four assassinations in less than 7 years? Couldn’t you people catch a clue? What was that about, “a malignancy growing as a government within a government?” An entity exercising tremendous power, accountable only to itself.

The citizens of the USA believe they live in the greatest, richest, most generous country in the world but don’t know when they are being shot at, lied to, libeled, ridiculed, stomped on and threatened. Very sad.

AMERICA at TWILIGHT (2)

It was the closest Presidential race in U.S. history. Now Americans prepared for John F. Kennedy, the 35th president, and to welcome a glamourous family to the White House. Arriving with the new first family was the Age of Television. It brought America the first televised presidential debate, the first gavel to gavel coverage of political conventions, and a buffet of television entertainment so varied it pushed radio and the movies onto life support. The new age was here with ascending stars Huntley-Brinkley, Walter Cronkite, Mike Wallace, Johnny Carson, Ed Sullivan, The World of Disney, these and many others charged daily with the momentous task of reporting the news, capturing the personalities, compiling the changes that arrived with the Cape Cod Kennedys. Those early days of the 60’s promised so much. It set a high tone for an afflicted future.

At the White House the new president found a couple of old problems set in motion by the previous Eisenhower-Nixon combo. There was the Bay of Pigs, a poorly planned invasion of Cuba that was both deadly and embarrassing. Kennedy did not plan it but he wore it. It was his first encounter with the lying, immoral and despicable miscreants in charge of the Central Intelligence Agency. Kennedy’s youth found him at odds with the aging Joint Chiefs at the Pentagon. They blamed him for the Cuban debacle by failing to order aircraft cover for the invaders. It was Kennedy’s first close encounter with the CIA, the agency that planned it. Then there was Vietnam. The military/industrial complex was pushing for greater U-S involvement. The cabal was disingenuous when it claimed South Vietnam had to be saved for democracy. They wanted the oil. Maybe the skulls in the Pentagon Fog forgot that the French Indo-China adventure did not end well. The Generals also obsessed about this new guy, Castro. Cuba was planning to export revolution and some members of the Pentagon wanted to drop a nuclear bomb and eliminate the problem. Checkmate! Again Kennedy was at odds with General Curtis Lemay, a dangerous hawk, and a couple of other Generals who secretly called JFK weak. Meanwhile, for the rest of America, oblivious to the challenges facing the occupant of the Oval office, things were going swimmingly. The generation gap was not yet but soon – at this point rock n’ roll music was replaced by a folk revival led by Peter, Paul and Mary, The Kingston Trio, the Limeliters, a crowded field, for sure. Girl groups topped the charts – the Ronettes, Supremes, Shirelles. “Here’s Johnny” was now a late night treat. Jackie Kennedy was redecorating the White House and changing the hairstyles of many American women. They said she was everything a First Lady should be.

The Cuban Missile Crisis sobered America’s happy dance for the moment. Those Ten Days in October 1962 took the United States and the Soviet Union to the brink of nuclear war. And again Kennedy encountered the Militancy of several Pentagon Peacocks. Russian missiles in Cuba? Take them out with a first strike nuclear attack!!! In the face of exacting pressure to nuke Cuba, the President was blunt, “…gentlemen call me when you come to your senses.” Direct communication between JFK and Nikita Khrushchev ended the crisis! I don’t know if they still teach those Ten Days in October 1962 in school but they should. That crisis led to secret exchanges via undercover couriers allowing both Kennedy and Khrushchev to explore real nuclear disarmament away from prying eyes, because neither trusted their advisers. So at this point in 1961 Jack Kennedy was fighting a Cold War and dealing with the mayhem and chaos created by the CIA. The Agency was in the Congo assassinating Patrice Lumumba, the Prime Minister; crashing the plane carrying UN secretary-general Dag Hammarskjold, who was on an African peace mission; and managing to place undercover agents in every branch of the U-S government helping out in South Vietnam. Hoping to get some advantage over the CIA, JFK fired the CIA director Allen Dulles. Didn’t help. His Vietnam problems mounted. The Generals were restless, they wanted the States to really get involved in South East Asia and save Vietnam from communism and put some boots on the ground. Kennedy agreed to send more advisers but was four-square against sending ground forces to fight a war his more sane advisers told him the United States could not win. It was edging to a stalemate. CIA planning involved trying to trick Kennedy into agreeing to send men and materiel otherwise face a coup in Saigon. There was a CIA engineered Coup but Kennedy didn’t bite. Then there was Khrushchev threatening to end the four power Berlin agreement. So there was turmoil in the trenches but generally life in the first decade of the 60’s in America was going great! The Beverly Hillbillies were number one, Timothy Leary was encouraging people “to turn on, tune in and drop out.” LSD, free love, bring it on. The British invasion, Flower Power and the Counter Culture movement were still to come. But the Folk Revival, Twilight Zone, and Rowdy Yates were already here. Clint Eastwood played second fiddle in Rawhide but millions of women confirmed the star was Eastwood. Haight-Ashbury, Woodstock, “The Eagle has landed” were works in progress along with Expo ’67 and the IMAX debut in Montreal. The Queen would visit. So would the Great Asparagus!

Jack and Jackie traveled some. First to see the Queen at Buckingham Palace. Then to Paris for a meeting with Charles De Gaulle and Madame. JFK’s meeting in Vienna in 1961 with Nikita Khrushchev didn’t go nearly as well. He left that first session with the Russian bear – shaken. The U-S president told one of his advisers, “I’ve never met a man like this; I talked about how a nuclear exchange would kill 70 million people in ten minutes, and he just looked at me as if to say, ‘so what’?” But despite Khrushchev’s desire to humiliate Kennedy, the Russian agreed to open a back channel to facilitate unfiltered messaging between the Oval office and the Kremlin.

Kennedy returned from Europe to debrief advisors and the Joint Chiefs who continued to ride hard toward the Apocalypse. He was appalled by Generals Lemnitzer and LeMay who wanted him to authorize the use of nuclear weapons in both Berlin and Southeast Asia. They also told him they were opposed to allowing John Frankenheimer to use the White House for the movie “Seven Days in May”, but Kennedy, who could be a teaser-weaser, tweaked the Generals, saying “when the cameras come to the White House, I’ll be at Hyannis Port sailing.”

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was a man marked for executive-action because he was fearless in the face of major challenges thrown down by: the Generals, The Dark Shadows of the CIA, the spectre of a nuclear miscalculation, his predilection to cavort with dangerous women, and Vietnam.

The plans are drawn, the patsy trussed, the people of America are to be afflicted by crushing sadness.

AMERICA at TWILIGHT (1)

The birth of the United States in 1776 served to reflect a hopeful future for the world because France, coincidentally, was slipping from the ENLIGHTENMENT to the AGE of REASON, a soul destroying trip into the French version of Dante’s Inferno. The hope America was bringing to the world was Freedom. It was a nation built on the separation of Church and State. That’s a concept about which 18th century Europeans knew nothing. Europe was not to emerge from the blackness of civic totalitarianism driven by the Papacy for another half century, by which time America was well along welcoming the tired and the poor, the downtrodden, and the persecuted of many nations, all yearning to breathe free! These huddled masses and all who arrived with them seized the concept of America and built the most powerful nation under God that the world had seen since the time of King David. The halcyon days of the Israelites. Remarkably, for the next one hundred and 80 years the United States grew in wisdom and power and freedom. Of course there were problems. Slavery triggered a Civil War, booms and busts dotted the economic landscape, two world wars dramatically changed US society while the bomb ushered in a Cold War. In spite of these challenges, or maybe because of them, America prospered. There was the Great Depression-not fun, Prohibition-a mistake, the hemp and cotton lobby-brouhaha (the banishment of hemp until recent acceptance of cannabis). Late to the party was women’s suffrage. For some reason America had the toughest time giving women the right to vote. The nineteenth amendment of the U.S. Constitution was finally declared law August 26,1920. By contrast, New Zealand 1893; Finland 1906; Iceland 1915; Canada 1918. Through it all Americans were not to be denied. Citizens in the 48 worked hard and played hard. There was Jazz; Basie, Hawkins Young, Webster, swing; Miller, the Dorseys, Goodman, Armstrong and when they weren’t swinging, swaying and jitterbugging, Americans were at the movies. Hollywood dominated with a thousand stars and the long history of Broadway-style shows made its way to New York City. Non-stop showstoppers: West Side Story, Oklahoma, Sound of Music, Call Me Madame, Guys and Dolls, Bells Are Ringing, The King and I, etcetera etcetera etcetera!! By the time the 60’s arrived Alaska and Hawaii were on board. Americans had it all – the cockiness, belligerence, the bravado of the main man on Broadstreet. But storm clouds were taking shape.

The lack of congressional oversight set the stage for a major change in the US character. To that end, while sharing incrementally their work with oversight committees in Congress, the newly incorporated NSC (National Security Agency) began spying on US citizens at unprecedented levels. The CIA, while very much engaged in foreign adventurism, was also using private Americans and Canadians in “secret brainwashing methods”, all part of the CIA’s,”MK ultra mind control experiments”. And J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI was out of control. The spy game coincided with the establishment of a permanent American armaments industry and a military to meet the challenges of the Soviet Union and China. The combination would grow into what some call Deep State. The first alarm about this growing juggernaut came from U-S president Dwight Eisenhower. January 17, 1961. In his final address to the nation that he served in peacetime and in war, he worried about the impact that this immense military establishment and large arms industry would have on every town and city in America. He said, “…in the Councils of government we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the Military-Industrial Complex.” “The potential,” he warned, “for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.”

Less than three years after Eisenhower’s unambiguous warning, America would suffer the Shock and Awe of that misplaced power engineered specifically to re-route the American Dream. Over the next two decades Americans were forced to travel a road of death, destruction, body bags and humiliation.

CRTC? Working for Ma Bell!

Haven’t given the Commission much thought lately even though I spent most of my long broadcasting career working for radio companies who lived under the shadow and in fear of the Radio-Telelevision Telecommunications Commission. Today a thunderbolt recalled the life and times of the COMMISSION and how it has laid waste the country’s broadcasting landscape. A Facebook post from Elaine Loring and another by Evelyn Macko, both broadcasting veterans, declared CFRB and CKFM had been savagely put to the sword. A Canadian telecoms publication, Cartt.ca politely reported 210 employee will be laid off. Laid off? Is that how you put it? Fired! is the brutal truth. They were made redundant by a corporation that has more than 5 billion dollars in the bank and has just received 122 million dollars from Canadian taxpayers in Covid-related labour subsidies as Mother was busy signing larger dividend payments to shareholders. What is Ma Bell?

It is probably one of the largest broadcasting companies in the world. It claims an empire streaming 215 music channels, operating 109 licensed radio stations in 58 markets across Canada. It owns a swath of this country’s most viewed television stations including TSN, CTV, BNN Bloomberg, CP 24 and others too many to mention. And now this fiscal bully has put the boot to the long serving radio combo CFRB/CKFM. Naturally there is an explanation from a Bell spokesperson who claimed the “programming changes reflect Bell Media’s streamlined operating structure.” What’s that mean? Saving money! What the goal BellBoy? “……we’re focused on investment in new content and technology opportunities, while also ensuring our company is as agile, efficient and easy to work with as possible.” Perfect explanation if you’re a car company. Puerile nonsense from a broadcaster. …”agile, efficient and easy to work with”…oh please! Ma while you’re still in your drive-by hit job mode, get a spokesperson who can actually make sense.

Here’s another thing. At a time when a relentless pandemic continues to ravage this land and we are spending tax money to shield families from evictions, paying millions to those aged 15 to 17, vacating hotels so that the homeless and normally downtrodden have a place, Ma Bell throws 210 people into the street. After a year of living in uncertainty, more uncertainty. Do I hear the cavalry? Oh yes that’s an American thing. Anyway don’t expect anything from a country that doesn’t know the insurrection is two thousand miles from Washington DC. And such a pathetic reaction from the Premier to the news that devastated the ‘RB-200. And I quote, “Keep your chin up. You’re going to come back. You’re going to get back on your feet. Maybe you’ll find a career within the media or you might find it outside the media.” That’s Dougie’s message of hope. No wonder the handling of the Covid challenge has turned into a cattywampus. Maybe the Ontario Premier knows this but let’s suppose he doesn’t. Premier Ford there’s no comeback, most everybody at CFRB/CKFM thought they had a career. Media jobs at a living wage are as rare as hens teeth. Why? Because decisions made by the CRTC over the past 30 years have ripped away the talent and shredded the honesty of the Broadcasting industry.

So the real villain in the piece is the Commission responsible for regulating Media. The CRTC. Here’s a regulatory body that should have been abruptly closed down 30 years ago. No other agency had the power to do so much for so few. The Commission, through wilful negligence, allowed Bell, Rogers, Corus, Quebecor to divide the spoils. Face it. Bell Media is larger and more powerful than the CRTC . That means Ma Bell, like her name sake Ma Barker, can fiscally mutilate the people that work for her and change the programming of radio stations they own at will. They can fire hundreds. It is what it is.

Like so many other critical areas of Canadian life, the gift of owning a broadcasting facility no longer is the people’s to give. Whom do you serve you might ask Bell?

Bell answers, we serve no one not even the Canadian Radio-Telelvision and Telecommunications Commission.

Simply said, today’s broadcasters no longer work under the shadow and in fear of the Commission.

They used to walk cap in hand to get their licenses. Now they arrive wearing jackboots.

Historically speaking

On November 8, 56 years ago, John F Kennedy defeated Richard Nixon taking the White House in one of the closest elections in American history.

53 years ago Friday, the 22nd, John Kennedy was murdered on the streets of Dallas Texas. Interesting that five decades removed from those two significant events questions remain relative to both. The 1960 presidential race was settled quickly when Richard Nixon conceded, ignoring the urging of several supporters to contest the results. Kennedy won the popular vote by just under 112, 000 votes out of 68 million cast, a margin of 0.2%. But his victory coincided with rampant rumours that the political machine of Mayor Richard Daly stuffed Chicago’s ballot boxes to seal Illinois for Kennedy. Down in Texas a story of skulduggery engineered by JFK’s running mate Lyndon B. Johnson was credited with sealing the Lone Star state for the Democrats. Over the objections of many Republicans Nixon conceded on the afternoon of November 9th telling close friends, “our country cannot afford the agony of a constitutional crisis in the middle a Cold war.” But despite Nixon’s decision not to ask for a recount, the Republican party pursued recounts and investigations in 11 states. In fact Earl Mazo, a Washington reporter for the New York Herald Tribune was positive the Democrats had committed Grand Theft. He kept telling anyone who would listen, “there’s no question in my mind the election was stolen…..stolen in Chicago and Texas.” Tipped off by reporters in Chicago, Mazo went to the Windy City, obtained lists of voters in precincts that seemed suspicious and started checking addresses. He recalled, “there was a cemetery where names on the tombstones were registered and voted. I remember a house. It was completely gutted. Nobody there. But there were 56 votes for Kennedy in that house.” At the urging of Democrats. Mazo went to Republican areas downstate and looked for fraud there. He found it but on a smaller scale than in Chicago. Then Mazo hit Texas where he documented similar Democratic electoral shenanigans. Armed with a couple briefcases detailing voting irregularities, his editors suggested a 12 part series on election fraud. By Mid-December 1960 he had published four of the 12, which were carried by papers across the States, including the Washington Post.

Then Nixon called and asked Mazo to stop writing his series on election fraud and dead voters because the United States could not afford a constitutional crisis given the heat of the Cold War. Mazo couldn’t believe his ears. “I thought he was kidding, but he was serious.” Failing to convince the intrepid reporter, Nixon called his editors at the Tribune and implored them to stop the series. Long story short, the Editors pulled him off the Series! Chagrined wouldn’t come close to describing his reaction. “I was terribly disappointed. I envisioned the Pulitzer Prize for crissakes.”

Election irregularities in the United States are an endemic nuisance. Americans call it garden variety fraud but it’s more than that. The fact is no one knows whether the Republic has in times past been the victim of a felonious cabal that used the ballot box to subvert the will of the people. Everything about the 2020 vote is not known but opinions are rampant. A Vegas oddsmaker says, “the fix was in. Trump was robbed. This election was stolen.” Financial broadsheet Lear Capital has important questions about what happened: “from statistical impossibilities, to coincidences that defy the odds, to 100+% voter ‘turnout’, there are anomalies that need explaining. They must be cleaned up before the next election or our beloved republic is in danger.”

The real tragedy of the election of 2020 is that 12 billion dollars was spent on a process that seriously diminished the Democratic process. America is the poorer for the outcome because it failed to blunt the destructive forces that attended the assassination of the Chief Executive Officer more than 5 decades ago.

Next, the decade Americans gave away their birthright.
