YOU CAN MAKE THIS STUFF UP!
2022/04/04
Examples of this STUFF tumble out almost hourly from the medical, political and technical people. And this STUFF includes myths that will not die no matter the validity of challenging protocol. Today Peter Juni, who sits at the head of the Science Table, estimated 30,000 to 35,000 Ontario residents are walking around with Covid. What solid, positive and unassailable proof did Juni have in his hot little hand that supported his estimate? He said it was based on viral levels measured in waste water. Who was his source(s)? Because of his ability to take out and put back the “Science Table genie” at will, we need to see the mathematics. We need to hear from a legitimate professional who will delineate the bafflegab that Juni reported. Juni is dangerous because he’s ad libbing unverified conclusions that are broadcast across the province without challenge. He just made it up! On the other hand we have some official new infections data based on actual testing as confirmed by the Ontario Health Ministry. It shows the number of new infections for March 31 to be 3139. The Ministry also tells us the 3139 is an under-estimate due to testing restrictions. That means the Ministry cannot say for sure how many people in Ontario are walking around with Covid today. But over there is Peter Juni, a doctor on his soapbox billowing wild unconfirmed numbers. He’s blowing smoke through his political foghorn. But that’s not all. Juni disagrees with the Ford decision to unburden citizens of masks, vaccine mandates, quarantines first thrust upon us to flatten the curve that would not be flattened. From the depth of his intransigence Juni makes this statement, “the highly infectious Omicron sub variant cannot be blamed for Ontario’s rising case count, but rather the increase in transmission can mostly be linked to the lifting of pandemic restrictions.” And on what basis does this paragon of medicinal virtue speak these words? He provides no evidence to back up that statement but by saying this, he is trying to marshall support from those who accept without questioning his baseless palaver. He is challenging the political decision to give living without mindless restrictions some air. Frankly, these clouds of bafflegab from Juni and other self righteous tin horns who think they have godlike abilities to devine the past, present and future need to be blown away by common sense. Real stats tell us Covid numbers here are rising but not nearly as dramatically as Dr. Juni speculates. Let’s face it, his scribbler shows no documentation for another pressure point he has directed at the political decision makers. The head of the Science Table said, “the point here really is it’s entirely our responsibility what we’re seeing and we just got a little bit too much ahead of ourselves and here we are.” Another shot at the Ford Braintrust, and braintrust is a stretch, but Juni is totally out step because he brings nothing substantive to this verbal runoff. He is challenging Ford with an empty arsenal. And you know Juni is talking just for the sake of talking when he says, “…and we just have our task at hand to keep the slope of the wave upwards relatively flat so that we are not challenged in our hospitals.” Let’s leave Juni’s verbal contortions and move to another Doctor from whom we’ve been hearing. Dr. Isaak Bogoch is representative spokesman for UHN (University Health Network). He’s an infectious diseases expert. In spite of numerous studies that cast serious doubt on the ability of masking to prevent Covid from getting to you, Dr. Bogoch loves masks. Yesterday he suggested that the Ford decision relative to masking was questionable considering the belief that Ontario is now confronted with the 6th wave. Bogoch says, ”I think if people continue to wear masks and most people wear masks it will help blunt the 6th wave.” Does he believe that or did he just make it up? The numerous probes conducted into masks should be enough to convince the honest, clear thinking doctors there is much doubt about the efficacy of masking. Let me refer to one. In late February, (8) industrial hygienists called the CDC mask guidance substantially flawed. In the 28 page letter they wrote to the CDC, NIH, and other top flight health authorities, the industrial hygienists pointed out they represented a combined 150 years experience in the field of industrial hygiene. For the sake of brevity here are their four key points: 1) Recommending N-95 masks is inappropriate for the general population and children 2) CDC has issued harmful guidance for masking children that contradicts manufacturers recommendations, world wide standard practice and the CDC’s own guidance, and without appropriate risk-benefit analysis 3) The CDC continues to ignore the fact that COVID-19 is primarily spread by aerosol (not droplets) making mask use mostly ineffective 4) CDC’s position for masks used by the general public lacks proper scientific justification and creates potential harm based on a false sense of security. And the conclusion of this group of highly knowledgeable 8 industrial hygienists is easy to understand:
“The CDC is doing enormous damage to science and scientists by allowing politics to dictate public health policy rather than actual science.” Within two weeks, the CDC changed some of its mask related policies without publicly acknowledging the letter from the hygienists.
Nobody in Canada seems to recall that letter. And mask wearing policy, at least in Ontario. has not been altered. Reflecting on the words of Dr. Bogoch on the absolutely positive aspects of mask wearing to combat the 6th wave, you could conclude he is not influenced in this case by science. How many of the rules and regulations imposed on us have been based on anti-Science? Maybe the masters of the COVID challenge have been making it up? Who says you can’t make this stuff up! W.H.O. did.
