KNOW THAT ‘STUDY’ IS NOT ‘RESEARCH’

As it turned out, today, May First, 2022, was a good day to drift through some old stuff in the somewhat dishevelled family library. Coincidental to the drifting there were thoughts about Joe Biden’s latest gambit, “The Ministry of Truth”, and Justin Trudeau’s plans to “license” Canadian journalists. On this library shelf I see, a dozen or more books about UFO’s – a subject clouded by government leaks, followed by denials, followed by more leaks – and next to the UFO’s almost as many books on the JFK take down and cover up. And couldn’t you call this serendipity, out tumbles “1984, by George Orwell“, somewhat tattered, with a cover that’s been abused probably by spilled coffee, price of 85 cents still quite visible, with pages intact. There on page 86, the mantra, “freedom is slavery” and on page 162, “ignorance is strength.” Mantra, a statement or slogan repeated frequently, like “no one is safe until all are safe”, an often repeated reference to the importance of being vaccinated. The unvaccinated, meanwhile continue to be cauterized. The latest broadside was fired by Dr. David Fisman. He conducted a study that obviously found favour with the people at the Canadian Medical Association Journal who published it. Designated a study rather than a research paper, Dr. Fisman, using modelling, claimed the unvaxxed if found in the company of the vaxxed are dangerous because they raise the risk of infection around them. The casualness of that statement suggests no challenge to the conclusion. The speed with which Fisman’s study was picked up by Canada’s MSM (main stream media) classifies it as propaganda on behalf of the the STATES’ view of the unvaxxed! Propaganda almost always crowds the truth and in many cases bears no discernible relationship to veracity. Don’t think so? Look at the framing of the story billboard in all the MSM, (“MIXING WITH UNVACCINATED INCREASES COVID 19 RISK FOR THE VACCINATED: Study”.) No equivocation, just a straight delivery to the reader as fact. There’s no reference in this so called study to repeated official statements telling us get vaccinated and you will not be infected. Here’s something else. The opening sentence refers to a STUDY and the next paragraph begins with a reference to ‘the RESEARCH’. Because this study slanders so many, we need to be clear about the difference between study and research. To study is usually academic. It’s designed to revise materials already learned in order to make sure one doesn’t forget them. While research is to search or examine with continued care; to seek diligently, labouriously, searching after truth. The sum of the difference suggests that Dr. David Fisman deliberately offered a hit piece that diminishes the unvaxxed. And MSM was eager to participate in the piling on and disparagement. But that’s not all. Dr. Fisman’s study is based on modelling. Fisman explains, “we use models in a lot of different ways. They’re just simplified versions of reality.” There’s more than a hint of simplicity in the doctor’s breezy explanation. Most would bluntly affirm there’s no such thing as simplified reality. Dr. Fisman may be a professional but his reliance on modelling for truth produces instant skeptics. All models have limitations because they are not representative of every possible scenario. British statistician George Box said, “all models are wrong. Some are useful.” Next let’s slide over to the desk of one of the many editors that would have approved publishing this study without thought. First check the pulse. You would have thought that after eviscerating the poor unvaccinated pilgrim, the last words of the study would find a place near the first words because Dr. Fisman’s vulnerability is noted but not until all the bullets have been fired. Story concludes, “however he (Dr.Fisman) acknowledges that a simple mathematical model does not fully reflect the real world or diverse factors that must be taken in account when setting public health policy, including political consideration and public anger.” The fact that MSM, now amply subsidized by the taxpayer, would stoop to run the report of a flimsy study, not a peer reviewed research paper, tells us everything we need to know about the deterioration of news reporting in this country. Recent history confirms anger from the Prime Minister comes at the unvaxxed from darkness. Why else would he want to keep the unvaxxed locked up for another three years? He knows this latest violent thrust is un-Canadian. How is it that so few in the Media grasp the obvious. He was outwitted by the Truck Convoy, and that will be the bastard badge he will wear until retired by his patron, Klaus Schwab. Meanwhile Ottawa continues to cover up the truth about the vaxxed. In Ontario, they are supporting daily numbers that show more than 20 deaths a day and several thousand new infections. But health officials are not admitting that at least 80% of those infections are among the vaccinated. The cover up provides fertile ground for studies like the one from Dr. Fisman that are used to play the unvaxxed as patsies, Canadians, characterized as extremists, misogynists, racists, and worse in the privacy of the Prime Ministers office. What kind of a man demonizes millions of fellow countrymen? And holds them hostage without due process! We know he is ‘of the people’ responsible for the monumental mismanagement of the pandemic.

The God they don’t believe exists has a reward for each one.

Manipulation

There’s something very odd about the Prime Minister’s behavior over the last 6 months. He has been making decisions and statements that are both confusing and contradictory. The two strangest situations I’m thinking about involve major decisions that have unsteadied the people and unsettled the political landscape. The FIRST deals with the growing divisiveness over “passports of vaccination”, the SECOND has placed this country in the middle of an unnecessary and costly national election. Consider this–on March 12, less than 7 months ago, Justin Trudeau firmly declared NO to passports in Canada. He emphasized the point in a followup interview shared with Reuters in February. Justin Trudeau was asked for a Canadian position on the growing clamour for Covid Passports in Europe and the States. He said, “many Canadians will likely choose to not get vaccinated and will have many reasons including valid medical reasons for choosing not to do that.” He continued, “..making vaccine passports mandatory when many will choose not to get vaccinated could lead to unexpected, undesirable effects that as Canadian Prime Minister I want to avoid.” And he wasn’t finished making what at the time appeared to be his incontrovertible position on the subject of imposing a caste system on Canadians. His last points underscored what appeared to be his firm opinion on the matter, quote, ” The indication that a vast majority of Canadians are looking to get vaccinated will get us to a good place without having to take more extreme measures that could have real divisive impacts.” end quote. Now I, and many others, took his words to mean–NO NATIONAL PASSPORTS for CANADA. No caste system. Wow! Take a look at a classic 180. Friday August, 27 this same Justin Trudeau dangled a billion dollars taken from his favorite cookie jar and coupled the bribe with a threat to punish provinces like Ontario if Doug Ford doesn’t implement a vaccine passport system. Ford who rejected the idea of a domestic Covid 19 passport less that a month ago has folded like a tent in a storm. The smart money said Ontario would have a passport plan by Wednesday. WE got it Tuesday. Adamant against in March! Bullying and bribing in favour in August! Who is pulling the passport strings in Canada? Think about it. It’s not Trudeau. Who then? Think the “GreatResetCabal”. And while I have no proof, I can offer evidentiary support that something or someone is s:fooling with this country’s political well-being. Consider this: In May of this year Prime Minister Trudeau and the rest of the members of the Commons, with one exception, voted on a motion that pledged no election during this pandemic. He was adamant. No unnecessary spending of 610-million dollars. It will be the most expensive election in Canadian history.

In June he repeated the position taken by the members of Parliament. No election during the pandemic! Then a few weeks later, his covid curls and slightly greying beard were gone and somebody yelled, “election coming.” The decision is very strange. He pledged his political word in May to eschew a political power grab in the middle of a deadly pandemic and by July he was persuaded to break another promise and visit the Governor-General, in itself a hasty installation. Recall what he said about passport imposition in February and again in March, “..because a majority of Canadians are looking to get vaccinated, that will get us to a good place without having to take more extreme measures that could have real, divisive impacts.” Recall his pledge—no pandemic vote. Two major decisions widely disseminated then suddenly two major national decisions cast aside. Both reversals conjure foreign influences. Has Trudeau fallen under the spell of the same cabal that has turned Joe Biden and his staff into the gang that couldn’t shoot straight?

Whatever the influences, the behavior of the Prime Minister has been odd!

Two Trudeau pirouettes and behold a costly election and an uneven vaccine passport rollout!

Bizarre!

…aha, the piper must be paid

Just because nobody has brought it up doesn’t mean nobody is thinking about it. The coronavirus bill is going to make Jeff Bezos 252 billion dollar fortune look like chump change compared to the money going to casualties of COVID-19.

Historically it never mattered whether the ruler was king, queen, potentate, president or prime minister, each was overcome by the prospect of spending at will from the nation’s treasury. It mattered not whether the nation in question was rich or poor, there was always money for war, for friends, for the old, for the young. “WOW,” said they to themselves, we always have money and there’s even more money in times of crisis!

Examples explode. Every day Prime Minister Trudeau, like some Saudi Prince, doles out advice for his subjects along with promises of more and more cash. Today, senior citizens! Yes the same ones that have been dying in droves because of a disgraced national attitude toward residents who live in homes for the aged and so called long term care facilities. The PM says, “We must do something for them and guess what, there is money in the treasury for them too.” Of course given the number of the aged that have been claimed by the VIRUS, many dollars have been freed up for the surviving old folks. Face it, 75% of the COVID 19 deaths in Ontario are pensioners. Figure 1,856 of the current total 2,475 dead were receiving the AOS plus the supplementary, and the Ontario treasury has just added $17,817,600. Almost 8,000 have died in the country and using the same probability (75% Old Agers) the National treasury will be adding $57,600,00. The PM can luxuriate in the knowledge that while a majority of the population will applaud his generosity, the wise will see it for what it is – A Potentate raiding the National Treasury on behalf of the dead to send monthly cheques to the living . Kinda works out doesn’t it.

And before the said potentate threw morsels to the Old Folks, he trotted out an assistance plan for big businesses that may be financially in dire straits. And why not a plan for BB? Two of the Prime Minister’s favorite businesses happen to have been in financial straits for years. Could Bombardier and SNC-Lavallin be a couple of big businesses needing big help from big brother in this time of national economic distress? Isn’t that neat, there is money in the treasury for companies in bad times even though they couldn’t manage properly in the good times.

Among the daily audiences of our recent past, the Prime Minister has promised money for the Oil Patch, farmers, airlines – every commitment calculating the need in the millions. Fishing industry just landed a ten bagger, $450 million dollars! The latest budget-projected deficit for the current fiscal year is close to $300 billion. We thought last year’s projected shortfall of 20 billion was beyond the pale but that was before the Corona Crisis. Frankly, using the word budget is silly because nobody in Ottawa is working with or without limiters provided by a budget! And while we have an Official Opposition that has from time to time during this raiding of the Treasury suggested a meeting of the House of Commons, where some elements of fiscal discipline need to be explored and some fiscal questions need to be raised, the Prime Minister is opposed. He is having such a good time in mid-raid, he has said as much. Things, he pointedly declared the other day, were going just great. It was his answer to lame duck Conservative leader Andrew Scheer. A critic today, but Scheer knows with a little more work and a few more victories in October of ’19 he would be at taxpayers cookie jar instead of Fuddle Duddle Two. Do we think Scheer, instead of Trudeau, would be less enthusiastic about sending from the Treasury carloads of freshly minted millions? No we do not!

The financial abyss that has been opened by COVID 19 is an opportunity for sanctioned looting of the Treasury. A Potentate’s dream, and in this case a Prime Minister’s opportunity to distribute a King’s ransom cheered on by a citizenry hoping to share in the ill-gotten gain. The cavalier attitude of the Prime Minister toward his spending spree came early in the piece. When asked what and how are you going handle the fraud that will accompany this surfeit of millions he said we will worry about that later. When later? Chances are on the Twelfth of Never. Circle that date but wait in vain.

So now we come to the reckoning. Yes the Piper must be paid. We have taken possibly as much as a trillion dollars while the vault was open and the King was wildly distributing the wealth that belongs to the nation. It must be repaid. How will you pay? Better question, who will pay? This is about the time the Federales turn out up with the plan that re-visits that old political fallacy that divides our fiscal obligations into three neat jurisdictions: Federal, Provincial, Municipal. I’m an octogenarian and I have spent a lifetime looking for the three different taxpayers that share the nation’s fiscal burdens–that would be the Federal taxpayer, the Provincial taxpayer and the Municipal taxpayer. The bad news is two of three of those taxpayers are missing, in fact they never existed but “sharing is caring” and if we want to make it safely through this dark and miserable war we get to take up the slack and confront that question knowing the answer of course. The other two taxpayers you thought were real were just figments.

Who pays the Piper? Short answer, we do. Expect the COVID surcharge to help remind us there’s always something to interfere with the life we knew just last year. The word goes forth. The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is empty. Fill it!

The Stone throwers….

Throwing assorted verbal bric-a-brac at Donald J. Trump because he is Donald Trump needs comment. For one thing it’s mindless and for another they are coming from people who should not be throwing stones because they live in glass houses. They include the pejorative comments of the current Prime Minister, the former Prime Minister Kim Campbell, the Duchess of Sussex and the primary subject of this discourse, Michael McCain.

Comments by Michael McCain, CEO of Maple Leaf Foods, underscore a misguided anger driven by his obvious hatred of the U-S president.

I don’t recall this kind of vitriol directed at McCain or his company, responsible as it was for deaths of 23 consumers of meat products sold by Maple Leaf Foods. Listeria was the killer. Death lurked in his company’s unclean meat cutting apparatus. It was the killing machine.

The blood from that scandal still stains his hands. If it doesn’t, it should along with memories of vulnerability.

So exactly what is his justification for accusing “U-S government officials and their ‘narcissistic’ leader of concocting an ill-conceived plan to divert attention from political problems at home” to the killing fields of the Middle East where the Iranians have been missile firing and killing at will?

He noted that while Iran is a dangerous State, a plan had been in place to contain it. If he’s referring to the goofy Obama gambit he is among the ill-informed. In his rant McCain denounced the “taking out” of a terrorist leader because, “there are a hundred like him standing in line.”

Does he mean we should let them flourish with impunity?

McCain blames American adventurism for the shooting down of PS flight 752 that claimed 176 lives, including a colleague’s family. That is tragic. But contrast McCain’s simplistic offering to the thousands of Iranians who marched, held vigils and blamed the evasive, lying leaders of Iran for the airline disaster.

It’s entirely possible PS 752 was deliberately shot down. It’s entirely possible that the world has given the Iranians a quick pass into “unintentionally.” You think a cabal responsible for killing scores of its own people during the November protests would hesitate shooting down a planeload of unarmed civilians as unsuspecting of danger as those who purchased Mr. McCain’s meat products some ten years ago?

I would have thought after living the listeria nightmare, Mr. McCain would have spent more time reflecting and less time throwing verbal brickbats that expose his woeful bias.

His outrage is misdirected. May his company never again have to face death in the grocery aisle.
