You can fool some of the people all of the time….

Prime Minister Trudeau’s latest trip to Europe strikes some Canadians as odd. For several reasons. The news release heralding his imminent departure was fulsome, in part. It details every European influencer with whom he will meet but not exactly why. Trudeau doesn’t seem to be a factor on the minds of key European politicians day to day. Mostly they view Canada politely but hardly a major influence against a backdrop of the war in Ukraine. Yes they appreciate our humanitarian support but militarily we are not a factor. We have been shipping some secondary weapons but most of Canada’s contribution is described as non-lethal. Not surprising. Our annual defense expenditures are meagre. And we don’t know whether we can help with the oil deficit. So nobody in Europe was expecting the Prime Minister of Canada would be arriving with heavy duty weapons of war and a billion dollars in aid for the Ukrainians. So why was he coming for 5 days? The itinerary rivaled a state visit. I think we could be forgiven if we postulate at least two additional reasons for the now concluded carefully choreographed 5 days in Europe. Because the PM is never transparent about planning and execution we must by necessity speculate. It’s quite possible his main strategist, Gerald Butts, the high profile fall guy of the SNC-Lavalin scandal provided another reason for Trudeau’s trip. Butts continues to provide the best strategic advice Trudeau and the Liberals can get. He’s brilliant. And his thinking might have been…”look Prime Minister your encounter with the Ottawa protesters did not help your popularity. Your standing among the polled shows almost 60% negative. Your refusal to meet with the Convoy reps was not good, because it gave your opponents an opportunity to dig up your quotes like, ‘…..you can’t negotiate when only one party comes to the table..’ …and that’s just one. Calling the dogs out to handle a peaceful protest prolonged by your ill-advised intransigence is another. Add to that your declaration that the state of emergency was not over because there were signs the Freedom Convoy truckers were regrouping and planning to return to Ottawa …I could go on Prime Minister but I won’t because I have another brilliant idea! Let’s make this trip to Europe a combo–one designed to further strengthen Canada’s solidarity with Ukrainians as they battle the Russian horde and two a high profile visit promoting a state of community with Europe. We have a major political deficit and this trip can deliver substantial political capital. Meetings in four or five cities plus an audience with the Queen and a wind-up day mingling with and speaking to Ukrainian refugees. From start to finish heavy on photo-ops and statements of heartfelt sympathy. This is a not to be a missed opportunity to fix the eyes of the world on you.”

My other trip scenario falls squarely on stewardship.

‘No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other!’

Justin Trudeau has cast himself into the untenable role of shilling for the World Economic Forum while at the same time trying to fulfill his role as Prime Minister. Unfortunately Justin Trudeau has turned his back on Canadians because of his loyalty to Klaus Schwab and the WEF. Examination of the reasons for Trudeau’s European trip suggest it was designed to coincide with key priorities of the WEF, in addition to the top of mind subject Ukraine. In London, Trudeau met with several members of the the World Economic Forum including British PM Boris Johnson and Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte. The World Economic Forum was well represented by the Canadian delegation: there was the Prime Minister, deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly. The penetration of the Canadian cabinet by the World Economic Forum starts right at the top. Additionally, at every stop, Trudeau trotted out two WEF favorities, climate change and elimination of fossil fuels. It is difficult to ascertain Trudeau’s end game with respect to his Canadian stewardship and his own projection on the Schwab starship. Some think he sees himself as the proconsul in the WEF hierarchy, possibly more than that. The just completed tour of four countries with pictures likely had the blessing of Schwab, who has announced to the world that Justin Trudeau is a WEF recruit in whom he is well pleased. Fellow Canadians need to digest the words of the Prime Minister delivered to the United Nations in September 2020. He said…..”this pandemic has provided an opportunity for a reset. This is our chance to accelerate our pre-pandemic efforts to re-imagine economic systems that actually address global challenges like extreme poverty, inequality and climate change!” Trudeau’s reference to the “Great Reset’ harvested howls from the uninitiated charging: “conspiracy theory” and “fake news”.

I would suggest the Former Governor of the Bank of Canada and Governor of the Bank of England does not engage his time among fanciful theories and chimerical dreams and neither does Klaus Schwab!!
